Short description: Graduate of Emergency Medicine is prepared to work in medical rescue units: hospital emergency wards, specialist and basic medical rescue teams as well as in public and non-public health care institutions. The graduate has general knowledge in the field of social sciences and specialised knowledge in the field of medical sciences. Can perform all rescue actions specified in the Regulation of the Minister of Health of 29 December 2006 on the detailed scope of medical rescue actions that can be undertaken by a paramedic (Journal of Laws No. 4, 2006, item 32 and 33 as amended).
Since the academic year 2017/2018, the studies in the field of Emergency Medicine last 3.5 years (7 semesters), where semester 7 is the time allocated for the implementation of a six-month professional practice in medical entities referred to in Article 89 of the Act of 15 April 2011 on medical activity (Journal of Laws of 2016, item 1638), which are dispatchers of units of the National Emergency Medical Care system. Graduation allows the student to continue education in the chosen field of study as a second-cycle student, and in accordance with Article 10 of the Act on State Medical Rescue Service of 8 September 2006 (Journal of Laws 2016, item 1868) entitles the student to take the State Medical Rescue Examination (PERM).
